Islamabad—Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) has distributed Rs. 719 million among 7,631 families of deceased and disabled Overseas Pakistanis (OPs) since inception of its financial aid scheme in 1981. While an amount of Rs 330 million was distributed among 1110 families of overseas Pakistanis during financial year 2015-16.
This was conveyed by Managing Director OPF, Habib Ur Rahman Khan during the cheques distribution ceremony under OPF’ financial aid scheme held here Wednesday.
The cheques among the deserving families of Pakistani expatriates from Rawalpindi, Islamabad and adjacent areas were distributed by Habib Ur Rahman Khan.
For convenience of applicants, the cheques of OPF financial aid scheme were distributed to the deserving families of deceased overseas Pakistanis through OPF Regional Offices across the country in a simple and modest manner. Talking on this occasion, Managing Director, Habib Ur Rahman Khan said that OPF is working for the welfare of Pakistanis expatriates and their dependents in all walks of life. He said that OPF has introduced financial aid scheme in 1980- 81 to provide financial assistance to the destitute families of overseas Pakistanis in the event of death or disability of overseas Pakistanis.
“It is aimed at helping the bereaved families to overcome their initial financial problems soon after the demise or disability of their earning members”, he added.
